Assistant Professor of Philosophy<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Department of Philosophy at Bilkent University invites applications for one full-time Assistant Professor position. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in philosophy by the time of appointment and provide evidence of a robust and developing research trajectory. We especially welcome applications from women and members of underrepresented groups in philosophy.<\/p>\n

The Department\u2019s philosophical orientation is analytical, broadly understood. Current members of the department work and publish in all major areas of contemporary analytic philosophy, as well as in the history of philosophy. The Department currently has 18 full-time research faculty members<\/a> (16 of whom are international), and offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in philosophy.<\/p>\n

Located in suburban Ankara, Bilkent University is a non-profit foundation university supported by its own endowment. It is home to a vibrant international community: faculty members come from more than 40 countries, and English is the language of instruction across the university. The university offers a generous benefits package including rent-free housing on campus, private health insurance, and subsidized private schooling for dependents (K-12, IB curriculum). <\/p>\n

As research is a priority at Bilkent University, its support includes grants for conference travel and sabbatical eligibility after the third year. The University also provides the Department with generous funding to invite visiting speakers and organize international conferences<\/a>.<\/p>\n
