Mert Ate\u015fsal<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Mert received his BA in Cultural Studies from Sabanc\u0131 University along with minors in Philosophy, Art Theory and Criticism, and Gender Studies. He then completed his MA in Philosophy at Bilkent University with a thesis entitled “Do We Need Philosophical Ethics? The Case Against a Unified Ethical Methodology<\/a>.” His primary areas of interest are metaethics, normative ethics, political philosophy and aesthetics. Mert presented his paper entitled ‘Reconsidering the Grounds for Public Trust in Science’ during the Joint Session of the Mind and Aristotelian Societies at the University of Glasgow (July 2025). Berk received his BA and MA in Philosophy from Bilkent University. <\/span>He is one of the founders of Prokopton<\/a>: Bilkent Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy <\/i>and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of \u00d6nc\u00fcl Analitik Felsefe Dergisi<\/i><\/a>. Zeynep \u00c7elik<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Zeynep received her BA in ELIT (2020), and MA in Philosophy (2022) from Bilkent University. Her primary research interest explores the connection between Social Ontology, Artificial Agency, and Aesthetics by seeking answers to questions on collective authorship. Additional areas of interest include Philosophy of AI and Philosophy of Fiction. She is the recipient of the British Society of Aesthetics (BSA) New Horizons Award <\/a>(2025) for her paper \u201cCollective Authorship in Theatrical Works\u201d at the BSA Annual Conference<\/a> at Oxford University. The same paper was presented also at the Social Ontology & Collective Intentionality<\/a> international conference (University of Vienna, 2022), Society for Women in Philosophy in Turkey<\/a> conference (2022), and a Turkish version at POEDAT 3. Analitik Felsefe \u00c7al\u0131\u015ftay\u0131<\/a> (2024). Having co-organized the first Social Ontology Faces the Future<\/a> workshop in 2024, she continued this role in co-organizing the second Social Ontology Faces the Future II<\/a> workshop, funded by ISOS and SAP (2025). In other news, she is \ncurrently the editor for the Social Ontology volume for \u201c\u00c7a\u011fda\u015f Bilim \nFelsefesi Serisi\u201d, aiming to introduce this relatively unfamiliar field \nto Turkish speakers through fresh analytical material.<\/p>\n

Sena \u00c7iftci
<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Sena received her BA and MA in Bilkent Philosophy. Her primary research interests are focused on gender-related topics, specifically, topics like Black women’s history, trans women, non-binarity, media, and historical feminist studies. She is also interested in working on Simone De Beauvoir and Mary Wollstonecraft. Moreover, she is interested in researching political and international relations studies, and their intersection with philosophy. She presented her paper entitled ‘Is Critical Phenomenology a Workable Project’ at the 10th Society for Women in Philosophy in Ireland<\/a> conference in 2025.<\/p>

Beng\u00fc Demirta\u015f<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Beng\u00fc obtained her BA in Western Languages and Literatures with a double major in Philosophy at Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University. She later received her MA in Western Literature at KU Leuven. Her primary research interests are social and political philosophy and history of feminist philosophy. In July 2024 she presented as part of the SWIP panel<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0Joint Session of the Mind and Aristotelian Societies<\/a>. In October 2024 she participated in the inaugural Princeton-Bilkent Workshop<\/a> on the History and Philosophy of Science. She presented a paper entitled ‘With Pleasure: A Feminist Contractarian Supplement to the Nonideal Theory of Consent’ at the American Philosophical Association’s annual meeting (Pacific Division) in April 2025. That paper is now forthcoming in Australian Feminist Studies<\/em><\/a>. She is the recipient of the 2026 Predoctoral Scholarly Activity Award<\/a> from the The British Society for the History of Philosophy (BSHP). During Spring 2026 she is teaching the English part of Social and Political Philosophy II<\/a>.<\/p>

Ziad Eldanaf<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Ziad holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Philosophy from the American University of Beirut, where he also completed a minor in Arabic Language and Literature. He has over eight years of teaching experience, having served as instructor of record for Arabic as a Foreign Language at AUB (2019\u20132021) and as a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Logic at Bilkent University (2024\u20132025). His research specialization is in metaphysics, with a particular focus on hylomorphism and its applications in both natural and social ontology. He also maintains strong interests in Greek philosophy and the philosophy of science. In October 2024, he joined the inaugural Princeton-Bilkent Workshop<\/a> on the History and Philosophy of Science, followed in spring 2025 by the Workshop on the History of Modal Metaphysics<\/a> at Bilkent. In July 2025, he presented \u201cA Hylomorphic Solution to the Problem of the Many\u201d at the International Aristotelian Conference in Lisbon, and in August 2025 he presented \u201cHylomorphic Corporate Agents\u201d at Social Ontology 2025 Conference in Dublin. From March to May 2026, Ziad will undertake a research visit at the University of Vienna, where he will work with Benjamin Schnieder<\/a> and his team.<\/p>

Sina Ersan<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Sina received their BA in Philosophy with a certificate in Film Studies at Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University in 2022. They obtained their MA in Philosophy at Universit\u00e0 della Svizzera Italiana with a thesis titled “An Extension to Judith Butler’s Gender Performativity Theory: Gender queer Inclusiveness & Sexual Orientation Performativity” in 2024. Their main interests are philosophy of physics, queer studies, and philosophy of mind. They also have a huge interest in literature and football.<\/p>

Ahmet G\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fc<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Ahmet completed his MA degree in Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before that he completed a BA degree in Philosophy at Bilkent University, with a minor in Political Science. His primary research interests are collective action and responsibility, global justice, the state, and ethics. In August 2023 Ahmet presented his paper entitled “Is the State the Polity?” at the 11th European Congress of Analytic Philosophy<\/a> in Vienna. In September 2022 he presented his paper on “We-responsibility” at the Themes from Raimo Tuomela\u2019s Social Ontology<\/a> workshop at the University of Bucharest. In July 2024, he presented his paper on the question of how the state involves citizens in governance at the Association for Social and Political Philosophy Conference at Swansea University<\/a>. In 2024 Ahmet was selected as a Global Fellow for Academics Stand Against Poverty<\/a> (ASAP). In addition, Ahmet has been awarded an Ernst Mach Grant to conduct research at the University of Vienna from October 2024 to June 2025. He has also awarded a T\u00dcB\u0130TAK grant to pursue separate research at the same institution from July 2025 to March 2026.<\/p>

Aybars \u00d6nder<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Aybars received his BA in Philosophy from Princeton University. His primary research interests lie in ethics and political theory, motivated by the questions of how one ought to live and how societies should be organized. Within this area, he is interested in global justice. He also has a strong interest in metaphilosophy and philosophical methodology, including questions about the role of intuition and empirical methods in philosophy, and the possibility of integrating or synthesizing analytic methods with 19th- and 20th-century continental European philosophy. His other interests include German idealism, analytic German idealism, constructivism, and pragmatism.<\/p>

Ma\u015fuk received his BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Bogazici University and MA in Philosophy from Central European University. He is primarily interested in metaphysics of infinity and related topics in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science and philosophy of religion. In 2022 he presented his paper on “Determination Relations and Metaphysical Explanations” at the Varieties of Non-Wellfoundedness Workshop<\/a> in Ligerz, Switzerland. That paper is\u00a0now published<\/a>\u00a0in the journal Dialectica<\/a>.\u00a0<\/i>In October 2024 he participated in the inaugural <\/span>Princeton-Bilkent Workshop<\/a> on the History and Philosophy of Science.<\/span><\/p>

G\u00fclden Alaz Meri\u00e7<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Alaz received both her BA and MA in Philosophy from Middle East Technical University. Her primary research interests lie in developing philosophical approaches to contemporary social challenges, particularly stereotypes, implicit bias, and discrimination. Additionally, she is interested in logic and has served as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Logic since Fall 2022, with a focus on argumentation, and critical thinking. In October 2023 and September 2024, Alaz presented her papers: \u201cOn the Nature of Stereotypes\u201d and \u201cUnveiling Sexist Fallacies: Integrating Philosophical Analysis with Practical AI Applications\u201d at the CEPDISC conferences on discrimination in Aarhus, Denmark. She is also passionate about making philosophy accessible to everyone, viewing it as an integral part of everyday life. Berkay received his BS in Psychology from Middle East Technical University and MA in Philosophy from Bilkent University, with a thesis entitled “Reference, Necessity, and Social Terms<\/a>“. His current research interests lie at the intersection of social ontology, philosophy of language, and modal metaphysics. He is also interested in philosophy of cognitive science. Evrensel Sebep<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Evrensel received his BA in Politics and History from Newcastle University. He then completed his MA in Philosophy at the University of Bristol. His interest areas include collective intentionality, democratic theory, social and political philosophy. In June 2022 he presented his paper “What (kind of group) constitutes a political movement?” at the Ontology of Politics<\/a> workshop at the University of Groningen. In June 2023 he presented his paper on “The Disenfranchisement of the Elderly” at the Bucharest Conference in Analytical Political Theory<\/a>. His article entitled ‘Warfare and Authority-Based Accountability<\/a>‘ was recently published in Journal of Social Ontology<\/a>.<\/p>

Yavuz Selim \u015een<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Yavuz received their BA in Western Languages and Literatures with a double major in Philosophy at Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University and a MA in Philosophy from Bilkent University. Their primary research interests are in ethics and social and political philosophy. They are especially interested in concepts of structural injustice, political normativity, membership, and recognition. In August 2023 he presented his co-authored paper entitled “Social Ontology Meets Political Realism” at the annual Social Ontology conference<\/a> at Stockholm University. In August 2025 he presented his paper “Political Moralism and Ressentiment” at the From Disappointment to Bitterness and Back Workshop<\/a> at the University of Vienna.<\/p>

Kutlu Tuncel<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Kutlu obtained his BA in Law from Ankara University. He received his MA in Philosophy from Middle East Technical University with a thesis entitled \u201cKant\u2019s Combat Against Empirical Idealism\u201d<\/a>. His primary research interests are Kant, perception, truth, and the intersection between these areas. He is also interested in early modern rationalists, especially Leibniz and Spinoza, and their modal metaphysics. Kutlu is the recipient of a Fulbright Grant to complete his doctoral studies in the United States. He participated in the Princeton\u2013Bilkent Workshop on the History of Modal Metaphysics<\/a> (April\u2013May 2025) and the 15th International Summer School in German Philosophy: The Problem of Skepticism<\/a> at the University of Bonn (August 2025). In September 2025, he presented his paper \u201cThe Third Antinomy Reconsidered: Transcendental Illusion, Deflationary Reading, and Grounding\u201d at the UK Kant Society Annual Conference<\/a> at Sheffield University.<\/p>

Eyl\u00fcl Y\u00fccel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Eyl\u00fcl<\/a> received her BA and MA in Philosophy from Bilkent University. Her primary interests are History of Philosophy, Aesthetics and Animal Ethics. In September 2022 she presented at a workshop organized by the European Society for Early Modern Philosophy<\/a> at the University of Copenhagen. In October 2023 she presented at a seminar organized by Extending New Narratives in the History of Philosophy<\/a> at McGill University. Her article entitled “The Place of Animals in Wollstonecraft\u2019s Early Educational Writings” is now published in\u00a0Dialogue: Canadian Philosophical Review<\/a>.<\/p>
