It provides students with an understanding of key philosophical debates and problems, and encourages them to develop and defend their own argumentative position.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a two-year masters that includes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phil.bilkent.edu.tr\/index.php\/degree-requirements\/\">coursework and a thesis<\/a>. The language of instruction for all aspects of the Program is English.<\/li>\n<li>All&nbsp;successful applicants will receive a <strong>comprehensive scholarship<\/strong>: tuition waiver (i.e. there are no tuition costs), discounted campus housing, private health insurance, and monthly stipend.<\/li>\n<li>Our research focuses on the central areas of analytic philosophy, especially metaphysics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and social and political philosophy. We also have strengths in the history of philosophy, especially ancient philosophy and early modern philosophy.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants from <em>all<\/em> disciplines are encouraged to <a href=\"http:\/\/w3.bilkent.edu.tr\/bilkent\/gradstudents\/philosophy\/\">apply<\/a>.&nbsp;An undergraduate degree in philosophy is not a prerequisite for applying to the program.
