The Board of Trustees of Bilkent
University met on November 13, 2002, to review a series of new initiatives.
Among these was the establishment of a Department of Philosophy in the Faculty
of Humanities and Letters. Following the meeting, a proposal was prepared
and submitted to the Turkish Higher Education
Council (YÖK). The proposal was approved by the Council's Executive Board
on December 25, 2002.
