The Department of Philosophy at Bilkent University will host Forum Descartes 2027, an annual international workshop bringing together specialists in early modern philosophy from universities across Europe and the United States.
Forum Descartes aims to support early-career researchers and broaden the canon of early modern philosophy. It provides an opportunity for scholars to exchange ideas and engage in discussion of current research.
The workshop grew out of the Franco-American Descartes Seminar (2009–2019). The 2026 edition was held in Turin, following earlier meetings at Utrecht University and the Paris Institute for Advanced Study.
