Visiting Professor Position

One position (rank: Visiting Professor), commencing September 2017. AOS/AOC: Open.

The candidate should have a PhD in philosophy and hold the title of full professor in her/his present institution. Applicants should be established philosophers with articles in leading journals and/or monographs published by leading presses. In addition, they should have an active research agenda and wide recognition of their work in the literature. The initial appointment can be for one or two years, and may be extended based on mutual agreement. Nominal teaching load is two courses per semester. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The Department’s philosophical orientation is analytical, broadly understood. Current members of the department work and publish in all major areas of contemporary analytic philosophy as well as in the history of philosophy. The Department currently has nine full-time members of which eight are international faculty. The Department currently has B.A. and M.A. programs. It is anticipated that a doctoral program will begin in the near future.

Bilkent University is a non-profit foundation university supported by its own endowment.
