Two faculty members from our department, Alireza Fatollahi and Alex Moran, have been awarded the Science Academy’s Young Scientist Award (BAGEP) for 2026. This award recognizes outstanding early-career scholars and provides support for them to pursue new research.
With these latest awards, members of the department have received the BAGEP award four times over the past three years. Jonathan Payton was awarded in 2024, and James Kinkaid in 2025. This represents the highest total of any department (STEM and non-STEM) in the country during this period.
