The department will host the 2027 edition of the Forum Descartes, an annual event that brings together specialists in early modern philosophy from universities across Europe and the United States. The most recent edition was held in Turin in 2026, following earlier meetings at Utrecht University and the Paris Institute for Advanced Study. The Bilkent-hosted event is tentatively scheduled for early May 2027.
