Forum Descartes’ 27

The department will host the 2027 edition of the Forum Descartes, an annual event that brings together specialists in early modern philosophy from universities across Europe and the United States. Forum Descartes aims to encourage young researchers and broaden the canon of early modern philosophy. The workshop grew out of the Franco‑American Descartes Seminar (2009–2019). The most recent edition was held in Turin in 2026, following earlier meetings at Utrecht University and the Paris Institute for Advanced Study. The Bilkent-hosted event is tentatively scheduled for early May 2027. Details to follow.
