Since its inception in 2002, the department of philosophy has become a center of excellence in philosophical education and research, and has a distinguished record of published philosophy papers per faculty member in leading international journals, and books with international publishers. The department is ranked #1 in Turkey in terms of publications and citations. Our research focuses on central areas of analytic philosophy: metaphysics and philosophy of mind, and social and political philosophy. We also have strengths in the history of philosophy.
